This time an unusual thing, "Human Hair" --- Curious????

Came across an article in one of the Business newspaper and it was about trading of Human Hair. I am sure that many of you must not be knowing that hair which we got trimmed in saloons are being traded across the world. Eyebrows raised???? Yeah I am sure they are. 

You will not believe that the trimmings are part of a business which is estimated to be 
around Rs 2500 crores and even as per the Indian Human Hair Exporters Welfare
Association this business is growing at rate of around 10% - 30% annually. 

Another interesting fact that hair from rural areas are traded at higher rates as compared
to urban or metros. Reason behind this is mainly because people in rural areas keep their 
hair natural and virgin means that no experiments or treatments like colouring, dyes, bleaching, straightening etc. being done which is considered as the best type amongst the available hair.

That's why these days traders rather than depending upon the saloons for getting the hair 
are focussing on the temples mainly in South India where natural and best type of hair is available. Even many temples holds auction for the hair tonsured off devotees and raise money from the sale of hair. Many temples have raised around Rs 150 crores in one 
month. Temples in south are major sourcing centres for such good quality  hair which  is fetched for around $200 to $1000 per KG depending upon the length of the hair.
